At a young age, Rick became active in the church. He sung in the children's choir, was a member of the Junior Usher board, and was the youngest deacon ever ordained. During his childhood, Rick focused on many career choices, wanting to be a pastor, firefighter, racecar driver, lawyer, and back to a preacher. Rick heard the call to ministry at the age of 19, but he was slow in accepting his call. Rick had seen how other ministers and preachers were treated and he was not sure that he wanted to endure that type of hardship. Rick decided to attend Caffco University. While there, he met his would be wife, Paula Brock. All during his college years, he continued to hear God's voice calling him. Often times, he would tell people, "I am not running from God, I am just walking from Him." During a citywide service, a guest evangelist spoke a word into Rick's life. The evangelist told him, "You keep on walking, you are going to trip." Rick's only response to the evangelist, "Yes, mame." At the age of 21, Rick accepted his call into the ministry.
On December 9, 1985, Rick married his college sweetheart, Paula Brock. Evangelist MaCulvie began his own ministry, R-Mac Ministries in 1986. Evg.
